Dallas is one of the largest cities in the United States, offering many services for its citizens. One of the city’s more innovative programs is its “Sustainable Development and Construction Real Estate Division.” This section of the municipal government was formerly known as the Office of Property Management. The division is only able to administer real estate which is owned or acquired by the city itself. The city of Dallas cannot give information about ownership, title work, appraisals or other related information on any properties which are not owned by the city of Dallas.

The City of Dallas and its Sustainable Development and Construction Real Estate Division is able to allow property owners, whose property is adjacent to a public right-of-way to apply to the city of the abandonment, of a part of or of the entire abutting right-of-way. Fees will be levied according to the law code of the city.

The city of Dallas also has surplus land available for purchase by private individuals in accordance with city codes and ordinances. Other services offered by the Sustainable Development and Construction Division in Dallas are building inspections, strategic planning, well monitoring, and more.
